About this course:
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in youth. This 7.5 hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents (ages 6-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and connect them to the appropriate care.
Course Format:
Participants must complete 2 hours of self-paced training prior to the course date.
The 5.5-hour portion of the course is a small group-interactive training. Participants will join via Zoom and should be prepared to be present and actively engaged for the whole course.
